Part 2: Shall It Be The Same Forever..!!

Time still moves – it shall move forever. The wind still blows – it shall blow forever. The golden brigade still arrives, each day, everyday bound by its duty-without fail , it shall arrive forever. Clouds still form patterns – deceiving you – unbridled – tough to be caught in your imagination – the moment you recognise a shape they transform – freely fleeting in air – unfettered , unperturbed – they shall transform forever. The stars still shine – their light complementing the eerie silence and the buzzing of the crickets – they shall shine forever. The moon still ponders, it reflects and wonders and makes you wonder – but then it shall ponder forever.

The lake still remains at meditation; in equilibrium - perfect composure – reflecting the moon and wondering with it – Shall it be the same forever? >/p> Everything is at a standstill – it is one of those rare moments – when the world actually stops – it frees itself from all encumbrances – trying to identify their existence – their purpose of living – they fail and create a pseudo lie – a false satisfaction – a short term gratification – this is how life works and then they seek for their joie de vivre. Lost in unsaid words, forgotten in rhetorical discussions, consumed in the desperation for satisfaction, neglected in the urge for instant gratification – the question persists – Shall it be the same forever?

The moon looks into the lake, the lake gazes at the stars, the stars look at the horizon searching for the golden rays to engulf them and take over trying to figure out the answers, the golden ball looks at the horizon , staring at the hidden moon to take over again – everyone looks at each other – they keep looking – they shall keep looking, waiting , searching and they shall keep wondering – Shall it be the same forever?

Amidst all this , the silhouette of a soul tumbles , it falters, it gathers strength and stands back, it falters again , it tries again – succeeding but conscious of the last bits of strength left , but the soul doesn’t give up, the silhouette moves back to the bed, lies down again – and again. She tries to relax her frail body, her feet are no longer capable to hold her , blistered; standing against the ground is a battle – endurance her only weapon. The bones are all protruding out as her garbs slip over her body, but the soul is intact – it is indefatigable. Lying there all day – all night – everyday – every night – every week – every month – every year – wondering ‘Shall it be the same forever?’

Of all the great mental faculties that man was bestowed upon , of all the gifts he was consecrated with , of all the emphatic feelings of compassion, love and humanity entrenched in the heart – of all the infinite permutations of a possible thought and the myriad combinations of their existence in your mind – all at a time , simultaneously – What if only one thought persists – it grips your mind – it strikes fear in your heart – only one thought – all the time- ubiquitously present – “Shall it be the same forever?”

Sheer poetry. The ability to hold on to an image for so long is a great talent. Loved it.
